Glazed Doughnuts
Serves: 15+ people
Prep Time: 2.5 hours
Cook Time: 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1-1/8 whole milk at room temperature
1/4 cup white sugar
2-1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
2 eggs whisked together
1-1/2 cup butter melted
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
Frying oil
INGREDIENTS FOR GLAZE
1/2 cup butter melted
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk
Salt
DIRECTIONS
Grab a large mixing bowl and add in your milk, yeast, and sugar. Mix for a few minutes or until sugar is fully dissolved with a paddle attachment.
In your milk mixture add in eggs and melted butter. Mix until incorporated.
Slowly turn on your mixture and slowly add in your flour and salt. Mix for 5-10 minutes. Set aside and rise for at least 2 hours covered in the fridge.
Get your fryer ready, whether using a fryer or using oil in a pan. We need to make the temperature hit 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once your dough is risen and chilled grab dough and roll out on your counter until about 1/3” thick. Use a round doughnut cutter or 2 circles of different sizes to cut out a doughnut shape.
Time to get your glaze ready, mix everything in a large bowl; butter, vanilla, sugar, milk, salt. Mix until fully incorporated.
Start frying, about 30 seconds for each side or until both sides are lightly brown.
Once the doughnut is done on both sides place it on a cooling rack.
Once doughnuts are almost fully cooled dip one side of your doughnut into the glaze and place back on the cooling rack to fully allow the doughnuts to cool before enjoying.
