Caramel Pecan Skillet Brownie
There is nothing better than an ooey-gooey warm brownie, am I right? The best-looking brownies are the ones with a great shiny topper and a bit of a crisp look to them.
Brownies are a great American treat that can be paired with so many extras. Some people enjoy the gooey ones and others enjoy more of a cake-style brownie. The ones below are how-to’s for making the gooey ones. These are my favorite
Makes: 1 skillet brownie
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 30-35 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter
1-1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
5 eggs
3 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cup flour
1-1/4 cup pecans
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup plus 1/8 cup vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Caramel Sauce
DIRECTIONS
Prepare your double broiler and melt the butter and chocolate. Once melted hold at temperature. Make sure you do not have bowl touch the water as the chocolate will burn.
In a mixing bowl with a paddle attachment beat eggs and sugar for 8 minutes.
Add salt, extracts, and oil into the sugar mixture and once incorporated add in warm chocolate butter
Once chocolate is combined add in flour and baking powder. DO NOT OVER MIX. Fold in the pecans then add to skillet and bake for 30-35 minutes
Once fully cooled drizzle caramel over the brownie and serve
TIP: Serve with vanilla bean ice cream for an extra treat!
TIP: USE GRANUALTED SUGAR IN YOUR BROWNIES AS THAT IS WHAT GIVES YOU THAT CRACKLE SHINY TOPPER
